Hotel Neemrana Fort Palace - Heritage Hotel Rajasthan
Located on the Delhi - Jaipur Highway in the village of Neemrana in Alwar district is
the beautiful Neemrana fort palace of small palace dating from the 15th century AD.
This heritage hotel, like the village of the same name, deserves to be discovered
slowly, little by little, all the time relishing its quaint, romantic and serene
atmosphere. Neemrana is connected to the powerful Rajput clan of Chauhans. It was made the
third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan who was defeated and killed in
battle of Tarain by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD. The battle became the turning point in the
Indian history. It paved the way for the Muslim Rule in India, which came to an end in
1857 when the last Moghul Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was sent in exile to Rangoon by the
British after the failure of the First War of Independence.
The place is named after a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo. Though Nimola Meo was
defeated by the Chauhans, his name was given to this site as a mark of his chivalry and
bravery.
This beautiful site was chosen by Raja Rajdeo and the fort palace was built in 1464 AD.
Located on a majestic plateau on the sylvan hills of Aravalli Ranges, the hotel is one of
the oldest heritage hotels in India. Here you can get the atmosphere where you can immerse
yourself in the history replete with romance and chivalry.
