Day 1 - Delhi

The journey of your lifetime begins at the Delhi Cantonment station where you will be accorded a warm, traditional welcome before the Royal Orient starts for its royal cruise, a week-long luxury voyage, through the colorful states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

DAY 2 - Chittorgarh/Udaipur

Arrival at Chittorgarh Railway Station to visit Chittorgarh Fort. Chittorgarh, the Masada of Rajasthan, is a legendary site of three mass suicides (johars) of the Rajput females in 1303, 1535 and 1568. Depart for Udaipur. Breakfast on board. Arrival at Udaipur and lunch at the hotel. Described as 'most diversified and most romantic spot on the continent of India' by Colonel James Tod in his Annals and Antiques of Rajasthan (1828), the city of Udaipur is indeed impossibly romantic. A place steeped in history and rich in culture, Udaipur has all the elements of an exotic city.
After taking lunch proceed on sightseeing of the Udaipur city covering the City Palace, Sahelion-ki-Bari (Royal Gardens), Shilpgram (Craft Village) including a pleasant boating on the lake Pichola. Departure for Junagadh. Dinner on board.

Day 3 - Mehsana/Ahmedabad/Junagarh/Veraval

At Mehsana, visit the famous Sun Temple at Modhera, built in 1026 AD by Bhimadeva of the Solanki Dynasty. The temple is located on a high mound on the left bank of the river Pushpawati.

Arrival at Ahmedabad via Himmatnagar. Operational halt for one hour. Departure for Junagadh. Breakfast and lunch on board. Arrival at Junagadh to visit Ashokan Rock Edict dating back to 3rd century B.C., Darbar Hall Museum, Mausoleum of Nawab Mahabat Khanji. Departure for Veraval. Arrival at Veraval to visit Somnath (the famous Shiva temple on the shore of the Arabian Sea.). The tale of its riches invited invasion from Muhammad Ghazni who ransacked it 10th century. Dinner on Board.

Day 4 - Sasangir/Ahmedpur/Mandvi

The forth day will cover Sasangir, Ahmedpur and Mandvi, the famous destinations in Gujarat. Departure for Sasan Gir. After taking breakfast on board visit Lion Sanctuary. Depart for Delwada. Lunch on board. Arrival at Delwada. Visit Ahmedpur Madvi Beach and Diu. (Fort and St. Paul's Church). This will be followed by departure for Palitana. Dinner on Board.

Day 5 - Palitana/Sarkhej

Travel to Palitana and Sarkhej. Breakfast on Board. Arrival at Palitana. Visit 863 Jain Temples atop Shatrunjaya Hills. You have to take 3572 steps to climb. Departure for Sarkhej. Lunch on Board. Arrival at Sarkhej. Visit Vishalla village. Dinner at Hotel (From Sarkhej to Ahmedabad by bus.)

Day 6 - Ranakpur/Udaipur

The famous temple complex of Ranakpur, 90km north of Udaipur, is considered to be one of the five holiest places of the Jainas. The shrines boast wonderful marble works, which put them at a par with those of the more famous Dilwara group at Mount Abu and Shatrunjaya near Palitana in Gujarat.

The main shrine known as Chaumukha temple (four faced temple) is dedicated to Adinath, the first Jaina Tirthankar (the ford maker), whose four-faced image is enshrined in the sanctum sanctorum. It was built in 1439 on land donated to the Jainas by Rana Kumbha of Mewar.

Other temples are dedicated to Parshvanath and Neminath. Also in the compound is a contemporary Hindu temple dedicated to Surya, the Sun god.

Day 7 - Jaipur

Surrounded by hill top forts such as Amber Fort, Jaigarh and Nahargarh, Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan and is a dream tourist destination. The City Palace complex with its intricate courtyards, palaces, gardens and sumptuous decorations is a must-see. It is worth exploring the 1728 Jantar Mantar or Observatory with its amazing astronomical sculptures.

Breakfast on board. Arrival at Jaipur. Visit the Amber Fort and an Elephant safari via Hawa Mahal. Lunch at the hotel. Visit City Palace and Jantar Mantar (Observatory) Departure for Delhi. Dinner on Board.

Day 8 - Delhi

Back to Delhi where the journey ends at the Delhi Cant station.
