Tour to Rajasthan, India

From Delhi, onward flights are available to the Rajasthan's key cities (including Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur) otherwise you can go by road or train. Domestic flights operate from Palam Airport, which is in the vicinity of the international airport. The domestic airport has two terminals. Flights from Mumbai and Kolkata also connect to some of the main cities of Rajasthan.

All the major cities of Rajasthan such as Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur are also connected to one another by internal airlines (Jet Airways, Sahara Airways, Indian Airlines).

Train travel is the main means of transport for a vast majority of Indians. And the railway network is also excellent. All the major cities as well as a great many of the smaller towns can be reached by train. Train travel in India is a fun and fascinating way to explore the country.

In order to get to the smaller villages, a private car and driver is required. Many of the loveliest hotels are out in the countryside and these can only be reached by a car and driver.

Best Time to Visit Rajasthan

Being a predominantly a desert state, Rajasthan's weather is extremely varied, something one has to take into account while planning a travel to the state. The best time to visit Rajasthan is from late September to mid April when there is a dry heat with very little humidity. As common to the desert region, temperatures rise unbearably to over 45°C during the months of May and June. After that, onslaught of monsoon over central and east Rajasthan provide the much-needed succor to the sun parched land and fills empty riverbeds. However, the intense summer heat lingers until mid-September or October, when night temperature drops considerably. The best time to visit Rajasthan, therefore, is during the cool, dry season, between November and February. During this period, daytime temperature rarely exceeds 30°C.
